Saving energy, saving money
Buildings, notably our houses, are responsible for 18% of Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions. We wish to help Canadians in making their homes more energy efficient. This implies that homes will be more pleasant and less expensive to maintain, while also helping our environmental goals. The Canada Greener Homes Grant will help homeowners in making their homes more energy-efficient, creating new employment for energy advisors all over Canada, expanding our domestic green supply chains, and combating climate change.
What’s available through the Canada Greener Homes Grant initiative?
Up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners in making energy efficient retrofits to their houses, such as improved insulation, EnerGuide inspections (worth up to $600), and professional assistance to homeowners so they can start planning their retrofits.
Recruitment and training of EnerGuide energy advisors to fulfill growing demand; this will lead to the creation of new jobs throughout Canada. The project allows participants to receive up to $5,600 in total. To keep residents informed, updates will be provided throughout the duration of the initiative. We are committed to guaranteeing that Greener Homes reaches a wide range of Canadians, including those living in rural and northern areas and those with restricted internet access, as part of our mission. We are creating a diverse network of energy advisors in order to create job opportunities for all Canadians and to satisfy the requirements of our communities.
